Whose blog is it..?
It’s yours because you are an expat living in Kraków.
It’s yours because you are a tourist visiting Kraków.
It’s yours because from all the
countries you chose to study and/or volunteer here, in Kraków.
It’s yours because you are a member
of an ethnic or national minority in
Kraków
…
Wherever you’re from and whatever you
do in Kraków- this blog is yours because surely you experience a lot over here and it would be great to share it with others!
Why this blog?
To create a new, open and unique
space for sharing your experiences as a member of ethnic/national/cultural
minority living in Kraków.
Isn’t it nice to see that you’re not
the only one fascinated, amused, surprised or maybe bewildered by certain
elements of your adopted home?
Isn’t it good to have an open space
where you can express how you personally experience being a member of a minority
and in the same time discover how similar or different are the experiences of
others?
….
What about?
Being a ‘minority member blogger’ can mean writing
about your every-day life experiences of living in a place where the majority
has a different cultural background. It can mean writing about cultural observations
about your chosen home, or about the new cafe or shop or event you discover in
the getting-to-know-you phase of living in Kraków. But once you’re settled in,
it can be really hard to continue to look at Kraków as a traveler might. Which
is why this blog will probably be one part ‘traveler impressions diary’, one
part ‘personal testimony’, one part cultural anthropology class, and one part
“what I did last weekend” blog J
Or maybe it will be something else and much more than that? The boarders of the blog are the boarders
of your experience that you decide to share here!
Share your
minority experience!
Make this blog yours and share your experience by leaving a post in
which you share with others any aspect of your experiences in Kraków.
Feel free to write long ones too J
Feel free to comment on others’ posts.
And also feel free to suggest how the blog can change for better!
